There must be a sound neurological reason why it’s impossible to think along the linear sequences that lead to books and essays while engaged in 3D daydreams about the potential disposition of pipes, vents and valves in a house, the angle at which doors do open, can open, might open, the state of window sashes, the level of damp in a basement, speculation about the necessity for French drains, trenches, foundation membranes, and agitated speculations about how to identify termites and judge their intentions.
The 3-D panic stops me from thinking about the unthinkable wars being waged right now. I’d like there to be more choices beyond panic or catastrophic panic, but you are served what times cook up. Neither thinking nor feeling are adequate to the times.

I was just going to say that the two minds thing: as far as I am concerned it’s mostly a matter of time management.. I never have a enough time... and the creative thinking sometimes gets washed away by practical stuff. Though meditating helps get over attachment to dualism... Paradoxically, dualism (mind/body, culture/plumbing) feels more comfortable, and yet causes a lot of angst. Easier to let go if you can, and the two become one....
