I loved this so much I just forwarded it to three friends at 4:30 am, one of whom read it and texted back. It’s 4:39 am and we are discussing...thank you.
Elizabeth is brilliant as Diana. I never thought much about Diane besides her tragic fate, but you bring up these delicacies - her essence with a gentle precision. I don't like the casting of Imelda. In fact it really bothers me. She just feels like a plain granny lacking nobility. Claire Foy was my favorite. Matt Smith, and Josh O'Connor - wow. But, I always love your writing.......
Wow Joan this is SO GOOD. This image of Diana trapped on the "polished, slippery yacht," is just perfect. As is your underlining of the quality of Diana's listening. By listening, she was fastened to reality and when she starts dashing around between yachts and limos, the unraveling becomes unbearable to watch.

Thank you Lina, you’d know better than anyone about who should play what.

Thank you Eugenia. So interesting to see how Peter Morgan wrote the fait divers into such coherent tragedy. And Debicki!
